Donnelly: Carol Carol June Donnelly (nee Dunn), lovingly known to her family as “Mickey,” passed away peacefully on Easter morning, April 12, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born December 22, 1928 in Bertie Township, Ontario, near Fort Erie. She majored in home economics at the University of Toronto where she met her future husband Alan at a bridge game. They raised their family of three boys in Ottawa where Alan worked as a national reporter for the Canadian Press and press officer for Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. They were active members of St. Matthias Anglican Church until moving to the Brockville area. Carol loved gardening, sewing, swimming, and skiing, and she was a master duplicate bridge player. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Alan Charles, Brian Towlson (Mary Ann Maruska), and Paul Hibbert; grandchildren William, Michael, Hannah, Andrea, and Timothy; great-grandchildren Malcolm, Penelope, Evelyn, and Isabelle; and twenty-five nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Alan Hibbert Donnelly and her ten siblings: Vera (Jim Flake), Charles (Martha), Melvin (Agnes), Doris, Gladys (Donald Olsen), Anna (Art Thompson), Julia (Harry Liphardt), Audrey (Wray Young), Wray (Dorothy), and Myrna (Howard Chesney). A memorial gathering will be held in the summer at her beloved Charleston Lake. The family would like to thank the “Care Angels” at Fox Run by the River Retirement Residence for their loving kindness.
