Papa, we were never as close as I would have liked us to be but that doesn’t mean that I don’t miss you any less. May you Rest In Peace and I hope that one day when my time comes, I will see you again. Ly

Don,
I want to sincerely thank you welcoming me into your family with open arms. You always made me feel welcome and I’ll never forget that.
I am very grateful that I got to give you a hug the last time that I saw you, and I’m also lucky considering that you: “usually don’t hug guys, and especially not guys with tattoos”.
I also want to thank you for staying on me to be successful in my chosen career path; it felt really good to answer your question with a yes the last time that we spoke.
Your family and friends will miss you immensely. Until we meet again sir, may you rest peacefully.
Love ya,
-Sean

Dad, when you came you live with me almost 8 months ago, the plan was for you to be closer to mom , and then to move into the nursing home to spend your remaining days together .That was not meant to be , as it turned out you were the one that was sickest . We came together as a family without any hesitation to look after you and I promised then to take care of you till the end and kept you at home with me .I take comfort in knowing you were happy here , as I watched this illness very rapidly deplete you of any quality of life .. You spent your last weeks surrounded by family and lots of laughter and still maintained your dry sense of humour .. Bart misses you dad as do we all.. You finally got your big nap.. love you dad xo

Papa I want to say thank you for everything without you our family wouldn’t exist your sacrifice and hard work allowed us to live and make you proud everyday. Although you were a man of few words the time we spent together in later part of your life allowed me to appreciate you more and understand you more than I ever had. When I looked into your eyes I felt comfort and peace and looking back the last time I saw you I know just by your eyes everything was going to be ok. I want you to know I’ll always love you and you’ll never be forgotten. Till we see each other again love you Papa and I’ll make you proud.

Well I don't even know what to say here but I feel the need to say something. Those who knew my dad know that he was a man of very little words. He was quick witted and could always crack a joke. He didn't have to say much as we knew he loved us as much as we loved him. Unfortunately in December of 2018 he lost his best friend. Although my mom was still with us, their relationship was forever changed. We all had to learn to adapt but especially him. Our parents taught us a lot as we were growing up and we have many fond memories to relive and laugh about. Tim bits and malteesers hold a special memory for us now. Dad I know you finally got that big nap you were always trying to get. You went peacefully which we are all happy about. You will be our day of sunshine on a cloudy day and our angel watching over all of us. I miss you dad...as we all do. Good night and good bye. Until we meet again.....your baby girl. I love you dad.

Some would call him Donald or dad but I was proud to call him papa. For thirteen years of my life I got cherish the moments I had with him and I will never forget that. He was a husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather. Every time I would go and visit him I would feel safe and as if nobody could hurt me because I had my Papa taking the best care of me. He would make me smile and although I am sure I probably annoyed him a lot I could tell that he still loved me with all of his heart. Reast In Peace papa. I love you and you will always have a special place in my heart.❤️❤️❤️

I remember Donald Buchanan as a kind man. He was very welcoming the first time I met him in his home in Brampton and he was always kind thereafter. I will always remember our cigarette breaks together. My condolences to the family and to everyone that was touched by him. He was loved. RIP.

A sweet man!!!!
The love Don had for his wife could be seen, not only in the manner in which he treated her, but in the way she looked at him; the joy and excitement whenever she saw him was a true testament to the man he was.
He will be greatly missed!
My sincere condolences to his wonderful family

Don, you are already missed. Since you came to live with us, we have enjoyed your wit and sense of humor even when the joke was on me. You made friends with both Finney and Bart. Both known for their dislike of new people or new situations. I miss the chats after supper with Carol, you and I. I also miss the talks you and I had in the car when we travelled to Kingston for treatments. When Carol and I became a couple you and Betty accepted me and were always kind and friendly and made me feel like family. You will be missed. God has come and taken you home. Rest easy.

Don, not just my next-door neighbour but a man I fondly thought of as my buddy-next-door. You amazed me by your deep devotion, dedication, faithfulness and love that I always saw you demonstrating towards your beloved wife Betty. Yours was the kind of love, our world so desperately needs more of. You are already missed very much.
May God bless you with eternal rest and peace in heaven.
With love,
Kenneth.
