I have just come across the obituary of Joan Breen, and was very saddened to read this news. My sister Lynn and I were close friends of Jil Gower and Joy, and our parents were close friends of Joan and her former husband George Gower, in Caledon in the 1970's and early 1980's. We have such vivid memories of Joan, and she was a good friend to our mom Jean Carmichael, and our dad Donald Carmichael. I would love to connect with Joy and/or Jil, to reminisce and share long-ago memories.

Joy and family: I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing. On my visits to Carveth, I always looked forward to seeing Joan's wonderful smile. When my grandmother (Anita Gordon) lived at Carveth, she became very fond of your mother, and when my mother (Irene Moore) became a resident there, she in turn enjoyed the warm friendship of Joan. Dear Joy and Family I 'm not sure if you remember me but i worked at carvath when your mom first came in and your mom gave me a lovely plaque when i moved to p.e.i. i was saddened to hear of your mom's passing, she was such a beautiful person in every sense of the word . I had the good fortune to see her again this summer it was wonderful. my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time . Love Kim

Dear Joy and Family, It is with deep sadness that I send my sincere thoughts, memories and prayers out to your family. Joan was a very unique and beautiful lady, to whom I called a great friend. I had many laughs with her over her years at Carveth. Without her my job will never be the same, she touched the lives of many.
