September 7, 1924– October 2, 2019

 

Peacefully with family by his side, at Carveth Care Centre, on Wednesday October 2, 2019 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of 69 years to Elsie Garrah (Paddle), who passed away in January 2019. Loving father of David Garrah (Wendy), Maureen Dennis (Bob), Gerri Heath & Julie Demacio (Steve). Cherished grandfather of Jill (Richard), Tim (Sarah), Nicole (Pat), Shaun (Deanna), Brad (Laura) & Bobby. Great grandfather of Violet, Chloe, Paisley, Samantha, Jessica, Ethan, Lauren & Taylor. Dear brother of Ron (Wanda), Charlie (late Jean), Anne Boughton (late Peter), Nancy Belfie (Dave) and Judy Dean (Dave). Predeceased by sister Lois Eastwood (late Gerald) and by brothers Keith (late Marie) & Ted (Cathy). Family will receive friends at Tompkins Funeral Home, Gananoque on Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 am until time of memorial service in our chapel at 11:00 am. Reception will follow at Royal Canadian Legion, 55 King St. E., Gananoque. Afterward, the family will gather at Willowbank Cemetery for a private interment for Doug & Elsie. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Grace United Church - Gananoque, Parkinson Canada or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
