Colonel James H. Gerlitz M.D. retired

Born in Calgary in 1931, died July 10, 2019 in K.G.H. Jim was the son of Mary and Jack, the brother of Sylvia, the father of Grant, Craig, Brian and Debbie. He was the stepfather of John and mentor to David Grimes. He was the beloved husband of Carol Parker. His grandchildren brought him great joy and Papa Jim was loved in turn by them; Michelle, Emily, Chris, Ava and Jack. Jim had a full and rewarding life. He was a medical officer (psychiatrist) in the C.A.F. and upon retirement in1980 opened a private practice in Ottawa. He will be remembered with great fondness by his colleagues and his patients. He will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched over the years. A private family burial was held.
