Heaven has received another angel. Dorothy Pearl Higgins passed away peacefully in her 93^rd year, at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Monday June 3, 2019. Dorothy devoted her entire life to her family from whom she derived her greatest joys. She and her husband Gerald (Mike) of 61 years, who predeceased her in 2007, were the beloved parents of 3 sons; Doug (Cathy), Ben, and Tim (Kim). Dorothy is deeply mourned by her loving grandchildren Jennifer (Ted) Glover, Yvette (Andrew) Thompson, Jodie (Dean) O’Brien, Jill (Lee) Green, Melissa (Nik) Roberts, Renee Higgins, Michelle (Steve) Kavaner, Michael Higgins, Sophie Higgins and Marsha (Jamie Dorey) who passed away in 2012. Dorothy felt blessed with great grandchildren Brynn and Zachary Glover, Reilly and Bailey O’Brien, Grace and Andrea Thompson, Shayden and Amy Dorey, Jordan and Abigail Green, Aiden Kavaner and soon-to-be-born Colton Roberts. Dorothy has rejoined her parents Florence and Wilfred Bennett, sisters Irene Gordon and Barbara McNeil and brother Donald Bennett. Many nieces and nephews will fondly remember Aunt Dorothy. The family wishes to thank the staff of Connell 10 KGH, the PSW’s who cared for her at her home and Dr. Arawn Therrien who went the extra mile so often over the last few years. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in our chapel on Friday June 7 at 11:00 am. Interment Gananoque Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Grace United Church (Gananoque), the Gananoque Historical Society or to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
