Obituary of Ronald George Merkley

Ron Merkley (retired, O.P.P.) of Gananoque.  On Friday March 8th, our Dear Dad, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather left us to join the love of his life, June, (predeceased in 1998).  Born in 1932 in Chesterville to Ken and Rena Merkley, he is survived by his brother, Harold and was predeceased his sister, Janet.  Also predeceased by his son, David.  He will be greatly missed by his loving daughters Susan and Jo-Ann, his son, Drew as well as his son-law, Jeff (Susan).  Special "Poppy'' to his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his golden retriever, Spruce.   A lover of nature, woodworking, model trains, and gardening, he was especially happy when surrounded by his family.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity would be appreciated by the family.  A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday March 13th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  at  the Gananoque Inn, 550 Stone Street South, Gananoque.    Sincere thanks to all of Ron's caregivers through the years.
