Peacefully at the Carveth Care Centre in his 86th year on Friday November 23, 2007. Dearly beloved husband of Dorothy (Bennett). Dear father of Douglas (Cathy), Bennett, and Timothy (Kim). Loving grandfather to Jennifer (Ted) Glover, Yvette (Andrew) Thompson, Jodie (Dean) O'Brien, Jill (Lee) Green, Marsha Higgins (Jamie Dorey), Melissa, Michelle, Renee, Michael and Sophie Higgins. Proud "Grandpa Mike" to 10 great grandchildren. Brother to Jean Tregunna and Jack Higgins. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Marian Higgins, Sister Betty Smith, infant sister Patsy and Brother Robert. Mike will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home 63 Garden Street Gananoque on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in Grace United Church on Monday November 26 at 2:30 pm. Interment Gananoque Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, or Grace United Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
