Johnson: Margaret (Peggy) Talbot (nee Graves)

Aug.2, 1922 - June 16, 2018

 Peacefully at Carveth Care Centre on Saturday June 16, 2018. Beloved wife of William Talbot, survived by daughter, Molly Sorensen, and son-in -law, John Sorensen, Peggy was a loving grandmother to Sarah Sorensen.  After the death of William Talbot, Peggy was married a second time to Oliver Johnson who pre-deceased her. During her earlier life, Peggy worked as a book keeper in Manhattan until her retirement when she moved to Gananoque and attained dual citizenship.  She was very happy to be close to her family, especially her granddaughter, and also enjoyed the children at MacDonald Public School where she volunteered.  After 11 years in Gananoque, she moved to The Rosewood Retirement Home in Kingston where she lived for 12 years.  Most recently, due to failing health, Peggy moved back to Gananoque and resided at the Carveth Care Centre for 6 years.

We would like to express our gratitude to friends and fellow resident family members who shared in the journey and were so supportive. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at Carveth who showed much care, compassion and patience in a job that is unbelievably challenging.  The support by the front line staff during Peggy’s final days was greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.  A private service will be held for the immediate family. There will be an informal opportunity for others to pay respect in the Fireplace Room at Carveth Care Centre on Wed. July 4 from 2-4 PM.  As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Charity of your Choice would be appreciated by the family.
