Russell: Mark Robert

Mark Robert Russell, 62, passed peacefully at home in Gananoque on October 1, 2017. He was born in Clinton, IA and grew up in Lancaster, PA. Mark attended high school at Phillips Academy Andover, graduated from the University of Toronto and earned his Master’s from the Thunderbird School of International Management. He worked in corporate finance for many years. A lifelong St. Lawrence River islander, Mark spent his summers on Hay Island with his family. He is survived by his partner, Jayne Leggo, his three siblings, Richard Russell, James Russell, and Miranda Russell, his former spouse, Dr. Nancy Carney, and their three children, Dr. James Russell, Dr. Elisabeth Russell, and Emily Russell, and his beloved dog Opie. A service was held in Mark’s honor on Hay Island Saturday, Oct. 7. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help defray the children’s educational expenses.
