Ana and family - It is with great sadness that we offer our condolences on the passing of Eduardo. He was a great man who loved to help others ourselves included and these are things that one never forgets although as the years past our interactions became less and less your family has always had a special place in our hearts and that will never change. You now have an angel watching over you alongside his Mother and Father know that Eduardo will finally have peace, even though it seems unfair that you are left on this earth to suffer and try to cope with this tremendous loss. We pray to God to give you the Strength and Courage you will need and know that we will always be here for you just like Eduardo was always there for us.

I was very sad to hear of Mr. Marcos’ passing. While I did not know him well, he helped out a Portuguese university group I was a part of some five years ago. He took the time to meet with me and a colleague, asked us pertinent questions and gave humorous, valuable advice, all of which made us better advocates for our organization. He showed us great kindness in taking the time to meet with us and showing genuine interest in our pursuits. He was a generous soul and I know our community was very lucky to have him share his expertise and great sense of professionalism with us. My sincerest condolences to his family at this difficult time. Please know he is very fondly remembered even by those who only interacted with briefly.

I went to York University with Ed in the early 1970's and we were the only Portuguese students at the time so naturally Ed and I met and socialized. I knew he became a lawyer but we didn't really keep in touch after those University days. What I can tell you is that he was a generous, funny (in a kind of ironic, sardonic way) , very smart guy and that I often thought about getting back in touch with him but never did, much to my sorrow. One of the reasons I should have gotten back in touch with him was to give him back the expensive Economics 101 text book he lent me back in 1970. He always kidded me about wanting it back and that became part of our banter. I am sure he was a great contributor to the Portuguese community in Toronto and elsewhere because he was laways more interested and dedicated to that community then I was and I admire him for that. You have my deepest condolences on the loss of a great man. Henry Rodrigues

I am very sorry for your loss. Death is our great enemy. However we can find hope and comfort in the words of Revelation 21:4 when" death will be no more, nor mourning, nor pain be anymore..."

We stopped by to visit Ana and Eduardo while travelling back to Toronto from a motorcycle trip to Lake Placid on the May long weekend. As usual, we were warmly greeted and shared a wonderful meal. After lunch, Eduardo showed us around the new cottage and we marvelled at all the work he and Ana had done. He wanted to go for a boat ride, and of course, we were anxious to go with him. We remember Eduardo, in the boat, smiling, with the sun on his face, and he was revelling in the beauty of that May day, hot, sunny, and carefree. He was at home at Gryppon Lake, trees, water and land. That is the image that we will remember Eduardo.

Although my memories of you are but a few.....they all came back the same: a man of great inner strength, intelligence, passion for truth, steadfast and holding his family in the hightest regard, held tightly to his heart.
..the memories that flooded in were of the memory of you when I was as a child attending a wedding at the Old Mill in Toronto.and you dancing up a storm with your beloved wife, at your parents home in Toronto sitting in the yard conversing deeply with your father, while your mother looked on lovingly, attending the many family gatherings of your beloved sister, and the most recent of you at your beloved neice's wedding. To hear my own children say when you were introduced...who was that? I knew...their eyes saw the same...here is and will always be a man of great inner strength, intelligence, steadfast, passion and holding his family in the hightest regard, held tightly to his to his heart.
It is with all my heart that I and my family offer the Marcos family our deepest sympathies for your loss and that you are in our hearts and prayers
Sincerely,
Lynda Brown

The world has lost a man of great integrity, honour and committment---first, to his family and then to others. Being a strong, smart and focussed individual, with a passion for justice, Ed easily 'took charge', making life better for all those he touched. It was my privilege to have known him. My sincerest condolences to Ana and family.
