Battams-Rochefort: Mary Margaret (First Female President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 92) Peacefully at the Kingston General hospital on Saturday February 4, 2017. Mary Lappan in her 86th year beloved wife of the late Danny Battams and the late Joe Rochefort. Loving mother of Larry and his wife Mary, Richard, Iris McFadden and her husband Chris, Michael and his wife Dianne and Gloria Deryaw (Jim). Predeceased by 1 daughter Lisa. Dearest Grandmother of Christine Boles, Brian, Lindsay, Colin, Derek, Chris, David, Joey, Ryan, Morgan, Matthew and Mason. Also survived by 8 Great grandchildren. Dear sister of Edward Lappan (Irene). Survived by 1 brother in law Paul Battams. Predeceased by 1 sister Katherine Kelly and 1 brother Bernard Lappan. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home 63 Garden St. Gananoque on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. John the Evangelist Church on Wednesday February 8 at 11am. Rite of committal in St. John’s cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre) would be appreciated by the family.
