Knapton: Joan Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital with family by her side on Thursday March 15, 2007. Joan Garrah, beloved wife of 58 years to Ron Knapton. Loving mother of James (Dawn), Bruce (Sandy), Donna Wright (Dan), Chris (Barbara) and Cheryl Hayden (Jim). Predeceased by 1 son Steven (March 12, 2007). Dear sister of Connie Hutcheon, Rita Cirtwill and Sharon Chase. Predeceased by 1 sister Shirley, and by 1 brother Bernard Garrah. Cherished grandmother of Richard, Trina, Cindy, Shelley, Christa, David, Nicole, Conner, Foster, Brooks, Kyle and Dusty. Fondly remembered by 10 great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joan's humor and wit right up to the end will be truly missed by family and friends. A Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, Gananoque on Thursday March 22 at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal St. John's Cemetery, for family members only. The family would appreciate all who knew her to join them for a Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion Br# 92 following the service. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Team, Nurses and Doctors in Connell 10 at the Kingston General Hospital for their care and Compassion they received during Joan's short stay. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the University Hospital's Kingston Foundation, Cancer Centre or to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
