Dear Ollie, Joanne, Kathy and Marlene, It was with great shock and sorrow that I learned of Ferd's passing this morning. Ferd was always the one I thought of when we were in Washington and Gloucester together with you. He was always happy and easygoing and nothing seemed to bother him. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss - even though I have not seen him in years, I will miss him also. He was always the bright light in the room. You can still see the gleam in his eye in the photo, and that is the old Ferd I admired. I am going to try to get down to see you on Friday evening. Unfortunately Rita will not be able to come, but I will make a point of trying to be there. Love to all, John and Rita Flood
