Mavis and family Lou was a Great man. He will never be forgotten. He has done do much for the Town. When I was younger, I can't remember I time that I was at the rink and Lou wasn't. I can to this day remember how proud he was when us girls had FINALLY gotten to play hockey with the boys in Gan. I can also remember going to many Junior games with him, weather he was driving or my parents were (Ted and Donna Burridge) there was ALWAYS a few good stories that we would laugh about. May you memories of your husbands, father's, and grandfathers, love bring you comfort and peace of heart now and through the days ahead. I am sure he is proud of all of you and will miss you all dearly, but I bet he is happy to Have Ryan back in his loving arms.

My family and I would like to pass along our condolences to Mavis and all the Jeffries family. You can be very proud of the life Lou lived and the positive manner in which he affected so many people. When we first arrived in Gan and made attempts to bring Jr A Hockey to town, Lou was the first person I contacted, due to his great reputation for participating in anything that was good for the Community. Lou helped lead the charge and we came within one signature ( the OHA ) of successfully bringing Jr A Hockey to Gan. The support he gave to the management and coaching staff of the Jr B Islanders helped us bring in such future NHLers as Erik Cole and Andy Sutton and to positively influence many young players to pursue higher education. He was a true and trusted Friend. We are truly honoured to have known Lou.

What an awesome man! A man whose dedication to family and his community is to be cherished, celebrated and fondly remembered. It is easy to see where my friend Doug obtained his many virtuous qualities. To Mavis and the entire clan I extend my sympathy ofcourse...but also my sincere wish that family and friends celebrate and take comfort in Lou's admirable contributions and as full a life as any man can hope for. Sincerely, Greg

My condolences to Lou's family. I'll never forget Lou and Mavis' kindness when I worked for Parks Canada. Lou always had a cold glass of "ginger ale" ready for me when I made my stop at McDonald Island. I'm sure there are many examples of giving that many people can share.

We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to the entire family. Having grown up a "Gan" boy, going to school with Doug, and of course playing hockey with Doug & "Mash"... I truly know what Lou has done for the community. Lou's life touched many, including myself, and for that I am grateful. I am sure he will be missed, but his legacy will live forever.

Mavis, Doug, Leonard, Joanne, Sherry ... I am sitting here in Winnipeg with a great many fond memories of covering junior hockey as a young reporter in Gananoque in the early 1970s. Lou, whether as coach and/or general manager, is a huge part of those memories. He was a big help to me, he always made time for me for interviews, etc. I am forever grateful for all he did. My deepest condolences to you and your families. God bless.
