Dear Bob, Ruth, Dick, Ted, Julie and Tim, I am sorry to hear your sad news and I am also sorry that I was not able to attend the service for your mother. Colin and I are out of the country, but I would like to know that I am thinking of you all. It is hard when you lose your mother.....Aunt Donna was a single mom long before her time and one only had to speak to her for a few minutes for her to bring you up-to-date with the lives her six children. Our sympathy to Don. You have lost a strong, dear and very special woman. We are very sorry for your loss. To Tim, Julie, Ted, Dick, Ruth and Bob - Your mother was very special, and I share your grief as she was also a wonderful aunt. No one can fill the void of losing your mother. She was so strong, healthy, full of energy and humour and interested in life right to the end. Her children and grandchildren and Don were centre in her life, and her family came first. I will miss our chats when she updated me on all of your life events. I have lots of memories of visiting Howe Island and Pine Street home and even further back of you visiting Dobbs Island with Uncle Charles in your "Yellowbird" boat. Dick,Ted,Bob,Tim,Ruth & Julie. We have just lost a very special lady. She loved her children and grandchildren so much and talked about them all the time. I am going to miss her calls and visits so much. She and I spent last Friday afternoon together, and I am so glad we did. Our little adventure that day happened to be with a chipmunk one of my cats brought in the house for me. Both of us had fun trying to coax it out from under the bed so we could put it back outside. We always had fun together. That is part of being a family. I am so sorry we couldn't have had her with us for many more years.

To the Kirkby family...I was saddened to hear of the passing of your mom. Aunt Donna was always kind to me and would stop and ask how my kids and grandkids were whenever we met. Tim, I remember the times when we were kids and would play on that great playground set your dad had made for you and how your mom would always make sure we didn't do anything daring when we were playing.
